While enrolment and access to education in India has been addressed several times by various bodies in their own capacity, there are still gaps in the quality of education rendered. Despite huge investments in education, the quality has not substantially improved over the years. The drought of education in India has become more pronounced and this is reflected in India being ranked sixth among the seven emerging economies of the world, in terms of education quality. The need of the hour is to improve the quality of education as much as improving its accessibility.
Mexus Education has taken on the onus to address the needs of the lesser privileged in order to make learning more integrated and quality oriented. Our endeavor is to encourage self-learning models that empower children with the pre-requisite skills to enable them to follow their dreams. Most of the students aren’t taught in a practical manner in the school. The schools concentrate only on theory and marks rather than on practical knowledge.
Mexus Education strives to create a participative learning environment that brings the stakeholders including students, teachers and parents on a collaborative platform. It incorporates various hands-on learning methodologies to enable greater involvement and engagement in children.

Case Study
Mexus conducted Science Workshop for Sahaara Charitable Society on 16th Aug, 2011. One of the participant was a young boy named Rohit Chauhan, son of Seeta & Jiyaram Chauhan hails from the innumerable poverty stricken slum of Ambedkar Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai. Rohit with his three siblings faces educational deprivation with and has little access to quality education. Rohit attended the workshop and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of actually building a model from scratch. He exhibited great intelligence as he assembled his project even faster than the instructor. The workshop has triggered an interest in Rohit to learn science through experimentation and he also discovered his potential in building models.
Our Partners Speaks
“We are very much grateful to you for arranging the “Iken Scientifica” Science Workshop at our Matunga Centre. We felt that Municipal School children will not be able to make scientific instruments and learn principles of science but you and your volunteers had thought otherwise and made them do perfectly. We wish to continue with you when schools reopen. All the best to your endeavor and spirit to help NGOs and thus help less privileged children.”
- Mr. Devendra Desai, Founder, Children Toy Foundation
“The children thoroughly enjoyed experiencing Iken Products, especially Iken Zing & Iken Joy. They were quite amused to be exposed to such novelty products & did learn a thing or two. More over it kept them engaged with keen interest compared to conventional learning. Iken products can certainly add value to children’s learning experience.”
- Vijay Karande, Founder, Dreamz Home
Partnership with Corporate:
One such initiative is our association with Bayer India and creating opportunities for less privileged children to benefit from hands-on activities to further fundamentals in science. Christened MSMS;, ‘Making Science Make Sense’ is a CSR initiative of Bayer India. The program is for students in classes 5 & 6, generally the age when students get introduced to science in a full-fledged manner. The MSMS program is a mix of case studies, live demonstrations, experiments and interactive sessions and is managed by Mexus Education using audio – visual tools to enhance the learning experience. Additionally, the program also covers sessions on ‘Environmental Science’. It serves as an apt arena for students to experiment, experience and explore science.
